My Lego animals

These are my animals out of Lego and they took two hours to make. I have a sheep that has no eyes I have a snake and a elephant and when I was making them I could not fin the right pieces so I had to extend them with smaller pieces.

  1. Wow, Xanthe you have been busy. Three quite different critters. I like the way you told your reader how long it took to make your creations. Which was the most challenging to make? They all look so realistic and you have added some great detail with the elephant trunk, and the tongue on the snake. Why does your sheep have no eyes? was this a deliberate choice, or just because you had no pieces with eyes that were the correct size?
Which is your favourite creation? DO you spend much time building with lego? I know that I still enjoy getting it out and creating new things from all the lego my children had when they were little. Callum always enjoyed making it exactly as it was on the plans, but Ella preferred to make up her own creations and ideas. Which do you prefer?
Well done this is an awesome effort and I can see that this competition is going to be hard to judge.

  2. I had no pieces to put as eyes. The most challenging to make was the Snake and the Elephant.
My favourite creation is the Elephant and sheep because of the detail.
I don't spend any time playing with Lego at all and Caleb does not either it is just in his room. I prefer Callums way but it's really hard to find the correct pieces.
    Thanks

  3. Kia ora Xanthe,
Wow, what a fantastic job you have done in creating these lego animals! When I was younger my brother and I used to love playing with lego, and every so often we would pull out a massive container of it and spend the entire day building houses and people.
I really like how soft and fluffy your sheep looks, even if in reality the lego is super hard! It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t have eyes because you have done such an excellent job constructing the body, and it is obvious when looking at your creation what the animal is.
The snake is pretty cool as well (I really like the long red tongue which is hanging out of his mouth) but my favourite out of the three animals you made is by far the elephant!
You have managed to include so many small details such as the eyes, trunk and tusks, and I really like the pop of colour the electric blue elephant adds to this blogpost!
Did these animals come in sets, or did you make them out of lego pieces you already had?
You mentioned how they took you two hours to make; how long did you spend on each one?
When you said you had to extend the animals with small pieces, what exactly did you mean?
It would be great if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
    Keep up the fantastic effort!
