Gnocchi making
Mum and I decided to make gnocchi for the first time ever. First we had to roast the potatoes, then when the were cooled a little bit mum cut them in half and scooped the middle out. It was my job to push the potato through the sieve While mum roasted the skins and made the tomato sauce. After we mixed all the ingredients in with the potato we then kneaded the dough and rolled it out and cut it into pieces. Then mum cooked it and put it all together and we ate it and it was delicious!

Hi Xanthe
ReplyDeleteI love your photos of your cooking! That's an awesome thing to say you have made - gnocchi! It looks really tasty. I bet you are enjoying the extra time with your mum and dad. Did you enjoy eating the gnocchi?
Hi Xanthe. You have been busy in the kitchen. Do you know which country does gnocchi come from? You have written really clear instructions and as you thought they were so delicious I might have to try cooking some myself. Have you ever grown your own potatoes? I grew two big bags over the summer and I am sure I have enough left to give your recipe a try.

Yes we usually grow potatoes however we don't have a garden here yet. I'm sure we will next season though.
DeleteIts great that you and mum are in the kitchen cooking together. Nice photos and you have explained how you went about it really well.
ReplyDeleteHi Xanthe, that looks so good. I have thought about making gnocchi but never done it. Was it easy? How do you cook it once it is made? It is so nice to see so many families cooking together. Keep it up and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteReally easy and you just boil them for a few minutes. The hardest bit was pushing the potato's through the sieve.

ReplyDeleteYour gnocchi looks so delicious that my mouth is watering. I was very impressed that you were able to use all the parts o the potato in your dish. We make our own tomato sauce too, and the bottle always seems to be empty very quickly.
yeah we just had it last night (26th May, Wednesday) it was delicious and the sauce we usually buy it.My grandma makes the best home made sauce for mac & cheese and also for schnitzel.
