Writing questions

These are the questions that I had to do for writing. What I had to do was answer all of the them that were on the chart about a troll.
Question time!
What do you think the troll is thinking?
He was going to take the roof off the house.
Do you think he is a mean or a kind troll? Why?
I think the troll is mean because he was taking the roof of somebody else's house.
What are the people doing when they have seen the troll?
They ran and drove away because they were all scared of the troll.
Would you try to catch him or talk to him?
I would try to catch him so then I could talk to him because he didn’t mean to do what he did and he could apologise to the owner of the house.
Where do you think the troll has come from?
I think that he was a mountain that had trees on his back.
What do you think the rope around the troll’s waist is for?
For decoration?

  1. Hi Xanthe,
It is pleasing to see your written answers to the questions about the troll. I especially like that you think the troll was once a mountain because he has trees on his back. That is very creative thinking. I wondered about the rope around the trolls waist. Have you ever seen people with a rope around their waist? If so what was its purpose. What article of clothing finishes at your waist? I think you could have added context to your post if you had screenshot the picture and added it to the post as well. Perhaps you could edit the post to include this.

  2. Kia ora Xanthe,
Thank you for creating this blogpost and sharing with us your answers to the writing questions; it is so cool to be able to see how you answered them!
There are no right or wrong answers to any of these questions, and I think that is what makes them so great. Every single person who answered these questions would have left the classroom with entirely different answers, and an entirely different story idea from the person sitting right next to them.
For the second question of ‘Do you think he is a mean or kind troll?’, you answered that you thought the troll was mean because he was taking the roof off of somebody else’s house.
Why did he take the roof off the house?
How did he take off the roof?
Did he damage the rest of the house whilst doing so?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
You mentioned how you thought the troll had previously been a mountain because of the trees that he had on his back. This was such a clever response, and I can actually visualise the moment in my head when the troll/mountains slowly stands up to reveal his two very big, long legs.
You have done a fantastic job, keep up the great effort!
    Nga mihi
